Alabama State Troopers are investigating a wreck involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that claimed the life of a 5-year-old Millry girl, Sunday.According to troopers, Bethani Laken Beasley died when a 2006 Yamaha left Whigham Road, which is located three miles west of Millry, and hit an embankment. The ATV was driven by Stanley L. Mozingo, 26, of Millry.
Emergency personnel from JETS ambulance responded to the scene, where Beasley was reportedly unresponsive. She was transported to Washington County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
It is not known if either Beasley or Mozingo were wearing helmets. Currently state law does not require ATV operators or passengers to wear protective head gear.
Following the incident, Mozingo was arrested by state troopers and charged with DUI.
