CLEARWATER, B.C. – A young man from Alberta and his female companion are lucky to be alive after an ATV crashed while being driven illegally on a public road.

“When Clearwater RCMP and Ambulance arrived on scene they found a 16-year-old unconscious Clearwater female and a young male from Alberta with a serious head injury,” said a police statement.

“Speed and alcohol were major factors in the crash,” they said. Neither was wearing a seat-belt.

Police also said the ATV should not have been driven on a public roadway.
