Shooting a rocket at a birthday party. 8 frames a second is great for capturing the moment, but trying to sync up with a 9 year old pushing the launch button fills up the buffer quickly!

Ok. These little bastards are tough to track. Especially with a heavy 29 ounce camera body and a 52 ounce lens. If they didn’t stop for half a second to stick their beak into that flower I wouldn’t have gotten these!

I’ve never really tried to shoot BIF (on purpose) and I think I’ll stick with the big birds to begin with.

Taken on Dec 31, 2009. The last Blue Moon of the year. This was taken with a lens from an old film camera, a 70-210 EF f/4 push/pull lens. Not a great lens but I’m happy with the results. My best moon shot so far.

Next may be through a telescope.

This is from a 10 foot, 10 picture challenge. Take pictures of 10 items withing 10 feet of you. A great way to practice imagination.
